Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions

What makes the Diamond D Ranch Filet Mignon unique?

The Filet Mignon is the most tender cut offered by the ranch, prized for its delicate, pristine texture. Each steak is dry-aged for up to 28 days to reach peak tenderness and a deep, rich flavor.

Unlike mass-market beef, these are grass-fed and finished with non-GMO grain on a family ranch in Alabama, raised entirely without antibiotics, hormones, or vaccines.

What is the best way to cook a Filet Mignon steak?

Because these steaks are precision-cut to a hearty 1.5" thickness, they are ideal for a steakhouse-style experience at home.

There are several methods:

• Stovetop: For a 5-minute cast iron filet, sear in a very hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side and let it rest before serving.

• Crockpot: For Garlic Butter Filet Bites, toss cubed filet with butter, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce into the slow cooker on low for 2 hours.

• Grill: Rub with a herb crust (thyme or rosemary) and grill for 4–5 minutes per side.

Where is the Filet Mignon cut located on the cow?

This cut comes from the tenderloin, which is a long, narrow muscle located within the loin. Because this muscle is rarely used for movement, it remains the most tender portion of the entire animal.

How much freezer space do I need for a Filet Mignon order?

You do not need a large chest freezer; Diamond D Ranch offers individual single cuts and curated bundles specifically designed to fit easily into a standard freezer drawer.

The steaks are provided in 4–10 oz portions, which are vacuum-sealed and flash-frozen at peak freshness to last between 12 and 18 months without flavor loss.

How does shipping work for Filet Mignon orders?

Steaks are shipped to all 48 contiguous U.S. states in insulated, crush-proof packaging to ensure they arrive frozen. Shipping is free for beef orders over $175 within the ground network or $275 nationwide.
