Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions

What makes the Diamond D Ranch Porterhouse steak a "best of both worlds" cut?

The Porterhouse is considered a premier centerpiece because it combines the melt-in-your-mouth tenderness of a filet with the bold, rich depth of a T-bone.

To ensure a "steakhouse-quality" experience at home, each steak is thick-cut and dry-aged for up to 28 days, which significantly enhances the natural richness and ensures exceptional tenderness.

Where is the Porterhouse cut located on the cow?

The Porterhouse is sourced from the short loin, a section located in the middle of the back of the animal. This specific area is prized for producing premium, well-marbled steaks that are naturally tender.

How is the beef for these Porterhouse steaks raised?

Every animal is born and raised exclusively on our Alabama ranch under low-stress, holistic conditions. Our cattle are grass-fed on open pastures and finished with a non-GMO grain ration to achieve buttery, flavorful marbling.

Following a natural approach, we never use antibiotics, added hormones, or vaccines.

How should I store my Porterhouse steak, and how long will it last?

Each steak is vacuum-sealed and flash-frozen at peak freshness to prevent freezer burn or flavor loss.

Because we offer individual single cuts, they are designed to fit easily in a standard freezer drawer, so a chest freezer is not required. When kept frozen, the beef will remain high-quality for 12 to 18 months.

What is the best way to cook a dry-aged Porterhouse steak?

Our beef is dry-aged to such a high standard of richness that minimal seasoning, often just salt and pepper, is all that is needed to let the natural flavor shine. These steaks are ideal for searing in a skillet or grilling.

Can I get free shipping on my Porterhouse steak order?

Yes, shipping is free on beef orders over $175 within our ground network and free nationwide for orders over $275. All orders are shipped in insulated, crush-proof packaging to ensure they arrive frozen.

You can also add tallow skincare products to your order to help reach these free shipping thresholds
